Where to obtain information and support about professional qualification?

You can obtain informations about Professional qualification at the Professional Qualification Bureau. The GAQ is a specialised bureau, inserted at the Centro Nacional de Apoio ao Imigrante (CNAI) (National Immigrant Support Centre) that delivers information and directs immigrant citizens to qualification offers. The Centros para a Qualificação e Ensino Profissional (CQEP) (Qualification and Professional Education Centres) are structures of the Sistema Nacional de Qualificações (National Qualification System) that play a determinant part in what concerns the building of bridges between the worlds of education, training and employment, from the perspective of lifelong learning. These structures aim to support both adults and young people aged 15 or older.
The Gabinete de Qualificação Profissional (GAQ) is a specialised bureau, inserted at the Centro Nacional de Apoio ao Imigrante (CNAI) (National Immigrant Support Centre) that delivers information and directs immigrant citizens to qualification offers. This service delivers information about the recognition and equivalence procedures of professional training and higher.
 
At the Gabinete de Apoio à Qualificação you can count on the cooperation of mediators, with specific training by the effective Agência Nacional para a Qualificação e o Ensino Profissional and the Direcção-Geral de Ensino Superior. These bodies are prepared to answer to every question concerning the academic and vocational qualifications, as well as the equivalence and recognition of the professional training and higher.  
 
The mediators of the GAQ receive, inform and direct the foreign citizens to the Centros para a Qualificação e Ensino Profissional (CQEP) or to other entities involved in qualification procedures.
These practitioners also give information about the procedures of equivalence and recognition of professional training and higher, obtained abroad, linking, when necessary, with bodies involved in this procedure.
Apart from the above mentioned functions, the mediators link with the Gabinete de Apoio ao Emprego and Gabinete de Educação, of the Centro Nacional de Apoio ao Imigrante (CNAI) in terms to obtain information about other training and schooling modalities, respectivelI knew there are Centros para a Qualificação e Ensino Profissional (CQEP). The CQEP are structures of the Sistema Nacional de Qualificações that play an important part in what concerns the building of bridges between the worlds of education, training and employment, from the perspective of lifelong learning.
 
The CQEP aim everyone who looks for a qualification, bearing in mind the prosecution of the studies and/or a transition/reconverting to the labour market.
These centres are also suited for giving answers to handicapped or disabled citizens, intending to assure their integration in the active and professional life.
- The direct recipients of the CQEP are:
  • Young people aged or older than 15 years or, independently from the age, attending the final school year of the elementary school
  • Adults aged or older than 18 years, with needs of acquisition and reinforcement of the knowledge and competence.
The CQEP support young people and adults to identify the educational and training responses adequate to the profile of each candidate, considering also the needs of the enterprise sector.
The development of the procedures of recognition, validation and certification of competences (RVCC), school and professional, for adults is another service delivered by the CQEP.
