Can my visa of entrance Portugal be cancelled?

Yes, your visa can be cancelled by the issuing entity at foreign territory or by the SEF in Portugal, when its holder is the subject of an alert in the Schengen Information System, in SEF's Integrated Information System, when its holder is guilty of mispresentation on the application for granting a visa or when the holder does not fulfil the conditions of its granting.
The visas can be cancelled under following conditions:
  • When the holder does not fulfil or does not any more fulfil the fixed conditions for its granting;
  • When they have been issued based on mispresentation, use of fraudulent means or through the invocation of reasons different from those which caused the entry of its holder in the country;
  • When the holder has been object of an order to leave the country.
The residence and temporary stay visas can also be cancelled when the holder, without justifiable reasons, leaves the country for 60 days during the validity period of the visa.
The residence visa is also cancelled in case of refusal of the appliance for residence authorization.
The cancelling of the visas, after entering Portugal, is competence of the Government member responsible for the home affairs who can empower the National Director of the SEF.
