How to obtain medical monitoring in case of pregnancy or delivery?

In case of pregnancy, you have at your disposal free maternal health appointments, those monitor the pregnancy and labour preparation. The first appointment should happen in your Health Centre, as soon as you think you are pregnant.
Monitor the pregnancy is followed by regular clinical and laboratory exams, allowing to know the mother and the baby health conditions, during the pregnancy. Information is also given, regarding healthy nutrition, breastfeeding preparation, as well as behaviors to avoid.
The first appointment should happen in your Health Centre, as soon as you think you are pregnant.
 
All appointments and medical tests made through pregnancy and within the sixty days following birth are free. The doctor should issue an Exemption Certificate. Hospital birth as well as any hospitalisation due to pregnancy in a NHS Hospital or Maternity is free.
 
• Identity card or Health Card (NHS);
• Healthy Pregnancy Book;
• Clothing for the mom and baby;
• Personal objects .
 
If the pregnancy is monitored in the Health Centre, pre-natal appointments will be scheduled for you at the Hospital or Maternity in your residential area. As soon as you experience the first signs of labour, you can go directly to the Hospital or Maternity Emergency Service in your residential area.
What is the Healthy Pregnancy Book?
It is a little book (green), provided at the Health Centre or Hospital/Maternity freely, which contains useful information for the pregnancy monitoring.
In this book all the appointments and exams made throughout the pregnancy are registered. 
Monitor your pregnancy development, viewing this book and following the information it contains.
 
You should present the book in each appointment, Health Centre, Hospital or Maternity.
The book is essential during labor.
