To grant a AR to a student of a high school, the applicant must meet the following special conditions, besides the general conditions already mentioned: • Holds a visa of residence to do the non-paid internship; • Be covered by the National Health Services or owns a health insurance; • Exhibit a training contract to perform the non-paid internship made with a company of professional training body officially recognized and certified by the Institute of Employment and Professional Training, PI; • The validity of the residence permit corresponds to the internship length or to a maximum period of a year; • In exceptional cases, the residence permit may be renewed once, exclusively for the necessary time to obtain a professional qualification officially recognised;

Yes, you may. The holders of residence permit to perform a non-paid internship may, once finished the non-paid internship and with the SEF authorization, practice a paid professional activity.
Except in exceptional cases, the validity of the residence permit cannot not be over a year. The residence permit is not renewable.
These residence permits may be cancelled or not renewed if the holder:
- Does not fulfil or stops fulfilling the specific conditions that have determined the concession of visa or residence permit in question; or
- Practice a subordinated professional activity when such is forbidden or outside the conditions in which it is allowed; or
- Does not succeed in the studies.
